Newly-weds killed in road smash horror
Zoe and Paul Williams wed at Huddersfield Register Officer on Friday afternoon, last week.
Early the following morning they both died instantly after the Ford Fiesta in which they were rear-seat passengers careered off a southbound sliproad joining the M1 and M62 at Lofthouse.
Paul, 35, had three children by a previous relationship and Zoe, 32, had two, Ellis and Beth.
Paul's sister Sonia, 32, said the family had been left devastated.
"Paul was just a great guy and a lot of fun," she said. "He was caring, considerate, loved life and his kids. It's a really hard time for all of us. We are so shocked."
The car smashed through a barrier and a steel fence just before 3am. It then plummeted over a banking before bursting into flames.
Two men – a 23-year-old and 25-year-old also from the Huddersfield area – were also in the car. The 25-year-old is in a serious but stable condition after surgery at Leeds General Infirmary.
